Follow up
This is a follow up to my last question. I am starting my first reef tank (75 gal) and have 45 lb. of live rock cured and my tank is about ready for some life. I know I want to add more live rock (45 lb or more) before I get to adding corals and such, but would it be beneficial to go ahead and add some snails? I already getting a few spots of algae on my glass. I'm looking at an indo-pacific trochus species. How many might be added now? How many would be good in the end?

How long have you been cycling the tank? What are the water parameters? Obviously, you don't want to put anything in if your ammonia/nitrites are off the chart as it would likely kill the critters

yep, you should begin adding a mix of snails/hermits to your tank. Start small and add as needed. You might want to start by getting a 30gal clean-up crew pack from your LFS or online vendor. These packs are usually a mix of different species.

I still have ammonia detectable, but I'm guessing it should fall soon because I cured the rock for 1.5 months before adding it to the tank.
