I've had a good experience with two golden angels, in separate SPS systems. Never bothered my SPS or other corals.

These fish should be the only angel in the system. They tend to be incredibly shy for a long time, but eventually become less secretive although this process can take several months.

They tend to live very well off the rocks, and stay fat. Eventually mine learned to rush out during feeding time and snap up food, even flake and pellets, although again, this took months.

And best of all, they look incredible.

POTTER'S!!! I think they're also risk, but mostly because of collection techniques. They're so hardy and willing to eat (what YOU want them to eat!) if they'e collected right.

I say Potter's all the way, especially the rare blue-black Potter's...

I'm with this guy. Xenia seem to be as resilient as Aiptasia.

As far as Angels, (Flame Angel aside), I think the Flameback is a beautiful dwarf angel.

Koden, like I said earlier, the countless poles done on this board prove otherwise.

IMO, theyre definitely safer than butterflies(even CBB), most blennies, and probably safer than tangs.

Some people are not fond of putting there hard work at risk by adding an Angel, which I can understand.

I took a gamble and added my Flame Angel about 6 months ago, but I haven't really invested a great deal of money in expensive corals yet. Just Zoa's and LPS.

If my tank was stocked with expensive rics and SPS, I may have not done it.

My gamble paid off though as my Flame Angel is a model citizen thus far, and has quickly become my favorite fish.

Good Luck with your decision.

I have a Lemon Peel Angel in my tank and think its great.

Have had it for over 3 years and has never nipped at any corals.

Great fish.

I ask because that is my favorite I look at them every time I go in there...you know, 4 times a week!!!!
It's just the angle the fish is at in the pic. From the front, Potter's angels are predominantly orange, just like that flameback in the pic. However, they're drastically different from the side.

I totally agree with this statement. All of the tangs I have kept eventually went after my corals despite being fat 24/7. My cherubs on the other hand never touched anything except the little feather dusters that grew on the LR and macro/micro algae

I'm suprised nobody has mentioned the Ebili angel. Mine is a model citizen as long as nothing enters his territory. He doesn't bother any of my corals or clams.
