Help: tank dimensions slightly off !

Hey everyone,

I got this problem and I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I'm not sure what to do. I ordered my tank and in the contract for the tank, the dimensions that were specified were:

Length: 49.5"
Width: 22"
Height: 25"

I received my tank a couple of weeks ago, but I was leaving for a trip so I didn't have that much time to inspect it. On the weekend, I had some spare time, so I inspected the tank. Everything looks good, the build is good quality and everything. The only thing is the dimensions of the tank are slightly off:

Length: 49 5/16" (missing 3/16").
Width: 21 13/16" (missing 3/16").
Height: 24 12/16" (missing 4/16").

I keep telling myself, that it's just me..that I'm too picky. But at the sametime, I paid quite a bit for this tank and would have expected that the dimensions of the tank be respected exactly. But then again, maybe with the silicone they have to put, the dimensions of the tank can't be respected exactly.

Does anyone have any experience with this kind of problem ?
What should I do ?

Or is this just a normal thing to expect when ordering a tank with custom dimensions ?

Oups made a mistake in my first post, it's more like:

Length: 49 5/16" (missing 11/16").
Width: 21 13/16" (missing 3/16").
Height: 24 12/16" (missing 4/16").

I wouldnt worry about it too much, but I would tell the manufacturer about it, and that you're not happy about it. Maybe they'll give you some $$ back, or throw in a sump or something.

I would be ****ed if it messed up the dimensions on my stand or if because of the tank not being exact it didnt fit properly. Has it created this kind of problem for you? if so I would freak if not I would do what Rich said

49 8/16 to 49 5/16 is only 3/16th of an inch, you were correct the first time.
I would be a bit po'd if it left a gap on the stand that was supposed to fit it perfectly.
