ASM Mini G vs CSS 125

Hi everyone,

I'm in the planning stages for a new 15 gallon reef. Mostly lps/softies, and t5 lighting. These skimmers are similarily priced and both use needle wheels. I would be using in sump (10 gallons). Which one should I choose? I would like to have a bigger skimmer beause I want to feed the lps alot and naturally I'll need a bigger skimmer to compete.

Here's the
ASM ... $99.99

Here's theCSS125 ...$114.99

Any disadvantages or advantages for one over the other? Loudness, type of skimmate producted, excess bubbles, sensitivity, ease to adjust, ect. Also, any other skimmers in this price range that you would recommend? I have a remora now, and it's not great, looking for the newer technology, ie. needle wheel, ect.

Thanks, Harry

Although most of the ASM line is great, I haven't really heard that many great things about the ASM mini. Between those two skimmers, the CSS 125 will probably perform better.

If you really want much better performance than either of those for not much more, go to www.h2otropicals.com and get a Euro Reef ES5-24 Blem for $145. That skimmer will kill both those skimmers for a very modest amount more money.

Wow, thanks for the awesome link! I'll do some research on that skimmer, but I never thought I could find a EuroReef for that cheap, refirb or not!

Thanks again trmiv, Harry
