According to Randy Holmes-Farley, pretty much all GAC is the same and will leech the same.

I know he uses the cheap stuff you can get at Petsmart for like $18 for 2 lbs or so.

I bought some for my tank but I haven't gone through my two little fishies GAC yet, so I'm not sure if it's any better or worse.

They are not all the same. I was looking for an article for you, but I'm unable to find it. There was a comparison test conducted a couple of years ago and the results were published. (Maybe someone else can post a link to it).

If I recall correctly Black Diamond was rated the best. Randy has said in the chemistry forum numerous times that he uses Black Diamond. I have been very happy with HydroCarbon by two little fishies. (It also scored very well).

It's suppose to be very good, and I've looked around for it but havn't found it. My local petco doesn't have it.

I've always used Seachem Matrix carbon and have been happy with it.

I use ESV carbon. Low ash when you rise it.
