Waterproofing a temp probe?
How do I waterproof a Ranco temperature probe? I know lots of people are using the Ranco Controller. A search did not help much.

My controller is an Aqualogic which is the same as Ranco and they both use the same probe. I called Aqualogic and they sell the Titanium encased probed for $55 shipped. Ebay sells the regular Ranco probe for $19 shipped. Aqualogic told me that the Ranco stock probe will last only weeks if its submersed in saltwater.

I put a little silicone around the area where the wire enters the plastic tip, but I'm not sure thats even needed. Debbie-DIYReef |
