Ocean Clear canister
I want to hook up this canister to my tank but it's an inline filter and I don't have a drilled tank or a sump so I was wondering how I could do it. I currently have 2 fluvals so would the return somehow be connected to one of them? If I use vinyl tubing to return back to the tank, I don't see how it would be stable. Any ideas are appreciated.http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Produc...2&N=2004+22777

I run an ocean clear canister on my 135g. You will probably need a pressure rated pump to push the water through it, the fluvals wont do.
If you still want it, I would recommend an "over the back" closed loop system. You can get a good idea for how to build one here: http://www.melevsreef.com/closedloop.html A Mag might work, but I would recommend a small iwaki or pan world pump. I would also recommend getting a second cartridge and pad set for the canister. That way you always have one clean and ready to go. You should clean them often, every couple of weeks. Same thing with your fluvals if your not already doing so. He uses it to run a SCWD, you would put the canister filter in its place. |
