seio 1100 in 29 gal

does anybody know how much flow a seio 1100 has when its turned down all the way?? im in the process of setting up a 75 gallon but its going very slowly so i thought why not use the seio in my 29 gallon which only has a penguin hob filter and a maxijet 1200 for flow..or would it be too much

You can reduce the flow significantly with the adjustment cover. the flow can go from 100% to almost nothing.

One good reason to use the dialed-down 1100 instead of the 820 is that the outflow tract is wider on the 1100, providing a more diffused flow.

Nope. That is for addition of air. Note the intake slits. You can turn the housing (well, just the cover on the housing) to adjust flow.

There is an adjustable louver ring on the Seio which allows for different water flow rates. Here is the 820:

I think the 1100 would work in a 29, assuming you want a lot of water movement. The ring turns on an inner ring, and the size of the rectangular holes widens or narrows as desired.

I use an 1100 in my 54 corner tank turned wide open, and I love it.

You can literally turn it down to nearly zero flow.

An 1100 will be fine. I'm running an 820 in my tank along with a MJ1200 and a mag9.5 return. Thats a lot of flow. The 1100 will do great.

You cannot run the Seios on a wavemaker.

I haven't heard good things about seios on wavemakers. A lot of people have experienced restart issues. Although mine has always restarted when powered back on, so this may be something they fixed.

the larger seio's are generally the ones with problems starting back up...
