macro algae is dying - cause any problems?

I added some macro algae in my FOLR tank. Lately, my light has been off (not on as much), and the amount of macro algae is shrinking.

Question. When it "shrink" and disappear, does it become harmful?

Animals might be eating it, or it might be decaying a bit. Unless the tank is on the edge of its filtration load, that shouldn't matter much, but you could watch the nitrate and phosphate levels if you're worried.
