Which RO/DI

I am wanting to get a RO/DI unit for my home mainly for aquarium use, but would like to use it for drinking water. I like the Purely H2O "Optima Chloramine Advanced" or "Professional"; and the Air, Water, and Ice "Typhoon III". Does anyone with experience with these units have any suggestions or comments that may be helpful in making a decision? Thanks.

Does you water contain chloramines? Most don't. Have you talked to Bryan at PurelyH2O or Walter or the other Bryan at Air Water & Ice yet? Call or e-mail them with your water quality information and needs and ask questions of them. I think you will find either one will more than suit your needs so go with the one you feel the most comfortable with. They will both be around tomorrow, next week or next year, so consider it a long term purchase and go with your gut feeling. They both pride themselves on customer service.

Don't know the answer to chloramines, will have to find out. Then I will call them. I also need to decide where and how to hook it up. I'm hoping for a permanent hookup. Might also like a sump topoff, maybe. Have 58g with over the back overflow. Several f/w tanks also.
Do you consider a membrane flush system necessary or of value? If not going with the automated system is the four stage system adequate? Sorry for the barrage of questions. I would like to get some good impartial advice. Thanks again.

Personally I have not seen any conclusive evidence that a fast flush is of any value. I would like to see somone publish test reports on this subject. I think a good product to waste ratio of between 4:1 and 6:1 and good feed pressure is adequate in most cases.

Weatherford, Ok

From what I have found your municipality is not using Chloramines. Unless they have changed this recently it apears that you are free of this issue at the moment.
As Cities grow however they tend to run into the need for it.
