allright here is my sump Design..any errors??

Allright here is my sump design with tank. Is there anything that could cause a problem?? is the hang on overflow OK?? do i need a refugim or is that not needed??

IMO get rid of the bioballs and replace with a fuge or you will have nitrate problems. also put the skimmer in the first section, let it have first grabs at the water comming in.

HOB overflow is OK as long as you get a good one (not a CPR). I would skip the ball valve on the drain. Skip the bioballs and add a bubble trap before the return pump. Dont go overboard on the return pump size.

Yes on the bubble trap -- that's a good idea to add. Also, having the skimmer before the bubble trap can help keep microbubbles out of the return. I'd recommend unions in the return and drain piping to make maintenenace on the sump/pump/etc easier.

Re ball valves: I have a ball valve on my drain and I recommend it. I don't use it to limit the flow at all except for when I do maintenance in the sump. I use it to keep water from leaking down onto me...

Re return pump size, I agree with sjm817. Don't go overboard...

i still dont understrand the"fuge" is that a refugim?? and if so what does the refugim do/???
