Aquabee pump question

I noticed that my pump for my skimmer was not working. I removed it and cleaned it out with acid. It will hum and the impeller will turn a little then stop. Is it a gonner?

You need a bigger skimmer for the eheim pumps and then your your talking $900+. For smaller skimmers the aquabee pump seems to be well matched. What kind of skimmer do you have, maybe contact whoever you bought it from.

Well we dont know what skimmer he owns but im assuming he paid about 650-800 so its not much more for peace of mind. So for a larger skimmer and added capacity i would definately pay the extra dollar. However, the problem still exist, his pump doesnt work. What is a dead pump on a skimmer worth?

Schwebb,

One thing you can do is take it apart and make sure you assembled it corectly or removeit from the skimmer and shake it while its on or tap it. Its a common problem with a of pumps. Once it begins to spin put it back onto the skimmer. If the pump is humming then your still in luck. I kinda glanced over your questions earlier.

Well it is internal. I removed the impeller and put a metal screwdriver inside. When it is pluggen in the screwdriver sticks and releases as the power comes on and off by it self. I hope Brian can cover it under waranty.
