What's the exact length of 3' T5 (endcap with lamp)?

Hi guys,

I am just starting to add 4 3' T5 to my 3' tank. Now I have the everything except the lamps. My IceCap 3' SLR is 31" long, and a endcap is 5/8" long. Before I buy the lamps, I want to know exactly how long when I put the lamp and a pair of endcap together.

Some websites list the 3' lamp as 34" long, is it the length for the lamp only or the length with a pair of endcaps? If the lamp only is already 34" long, then the whole thing may not fit in my hood.

My 36'' tek lite's bulbs with end caps are 34''.
