Skimmer collection cup cleaning procedure
Hi all, I've been cleaning the collection cup on my Remora on a daily basis. Each time, I scrub it well with a stiff brush, especially the neck portion, where most of the solid stuff accumulates.
Should I leave the neck alone to aid the foam in climbing? I notice that every time I clean out the cup, it takes a few hours for foam to reach the cup again. Thanks! T./

There is a fine balance with the remoras. TOO clean and it takes some time for a little build up to allow for best skimming. TOO dirty and it doesnt skim!
So I clean mine thoroughly and let it build up again on its own |

i never bother scrubbing mine, just a simple wipe with some plain toilet paper(none of the frufru kind with lotion)
sometimes just run it under the faucet to rinse it out. I find that just the tp it generally recovers faster. |

Thanks for the help, folks! That settles it--starting tomorrow, I'm gonna empty the cup and wipe it dry, but I'll leave the neck alone until it's really nasty, then lightly brush it to remove most--but not all--of it.
Anybody disagree? Speak now, or forever hold your skimmate! T./
