Hi everyone,
I bought a Kole Tang about two months ago at the LFS. It has been eating well daily, as well as swimming and looking generally healthy except for its color. It seems to get a shade lighter everyday for about the last two weeks. It went from the rich chocolate brown to an almost pinkish color now with a yellow tail. Chemical Specs all check out and I was just curious if anyone had some insight for me? Thanks |

Mood plays a big role, so maybe stress from being a fairly heavily stocked smallish tank?

Feed him some Cyclopeze Flakes.
Mine did this too. I have found if I do not vary his diet greatly his color starts fading. I give him Nori sheets, Bryne shrimp, mysis shrimp, all soaked in ZOE (Kent Marine) and Garlic in the evenings They get a mix of Prime Reef or Formula 1 and Cyclopeze flakes in the morning. Since I started this rotating feeding all of my fish have very brilliant color and are growing faster than before. Hope this helps. |
