The Milwaukee Phosphate Colorimiter might be a better alternative compared to the Hannah as far as price goes.

I am interested in them too, but I have heard the repeatablity of the measurements are in question. I am considering the Merck low range test kit. Check out these threads.

interesting - my thinking was that the merck kit is pretty pricy also (same as the D&D deltec one right which I think is made by merck?) like 90$ or so and I thought I had seen the hanna for about 150 but I might be wrong - now I can't seem to find it anywhere

i will be purchasing a hanna colorimeter in the near future because the positive comments greatly outweigh the negative comments.

yes, nothing is perfect but i will trust a functioning colorimeter over a subjective human eye anyday.

yes, there will be defective units every so often but the steps taken by hanna appear to be that of good customer support.

as i am full blown zeovit with my phosphate reading 0 on my salifert...i have now outgrown the subjective color judging via the infinitely variable human eye.

are you thinking about going full zeo? if you are...chances are pretty good that you will be absolutely amazed with the results!

OK - it looks like the hanna may be the way to go - anyone know where I can find one then? (and what is a good price range for it)

Got mine through customaquatics.

The only pita so far is getting the reagent in to the cuvets. I've been sloppy and spilling a lot. Anyone else using one?

I have the Martini ( Milwaukee ) unit and it's been working great. Have never had the issues the person posting on the zeo board did.

anyone else know where I might be able to get the hanna for a good price? finally found it at custom aquatic, but it was 225 and I think I have seen it for quite a bit less than that before but not sure where

I like to use the Hannah meter to test my RO\DI water. Its much more accurate then a TDS meter. I'm able to have a better idea when my DI resin needs to be changed.

I've used several different test kits and each one has always told me I had zero PO4's.
