You aren't going to cycle again unless you add something that is decomposing. I really wouldn't worry about it.

dont transfer the sand....either wash it out really well and then put it in the 75 or use new sand.

I would just make up the saltwatwer you need after you use all from your 29. If you add more rock get it already cured or slowly add new pieces over time, so that your tank can handle to new bio load.

good point i would also use new sand as well... and maybe take a cup or two and seed it with your old sand.

adding 75 gals of new salt water wouldn't do anything to the old LR.

I transferred by 26 gal into a 120 gal. I used base rock along with all of my well established live rock and a sizeable amount of established live rock I got from another reefer. I used all aragonite sand, no live sand. I only had two small fish to transfer over at the time. Since I had so much LR that was well established, I did not have a typical cycle - i.e. the ammonia/nitrite thing. I did, however, still go through some levels of diatoms, very little hair algae, and cyano before completely stabilizing. You could have some die off in that live sand that could cause some cycling effects, and then there is the question of where your additional LR is coming from. Be ready with test kits and such to monitor. Would be a good time to go ahead and set up a QT so you've got a tank to put your inhabitants in if you do have problems, and you'll probably be adding more fish so it will come in handy for that as well.

Well, I just meant I used plain old aragonite sand that wasn't live sand - it was dry. It's been my experience that the sand bed gets pretty live on its own without the extra expense of the live sand - although some people like some added diversity of life that sometimes comes in those bags. Not sure it's necessary though as my sandbed has plenty going on. If I were you, I think I'd just leave my 29 up and running, put my new rock on a new sandbed in the 75 and let it cycle, once that's done transfer the 29 gal's stuff into the 75. That way you don't have to worry about putting your current stuff in an unstable envivroment. Then you'd have your 29 for use as a QT/hospital tank...which I like the idea of 'cause I have a 29 as a QT myself. You don't have to worry about transferring water from the 29 to the 75, really not necessary.

yup, that's what I'd do. You take care of your new rock, new sandbed that way, as well as giving you time to make sure that things are running as you want them in the new tank (pumps, heater, lights, etc) without having to worry about losing livestock in the process. Moving your tank in later won't do anything to it but add new life and help further stabilize things.
