What is this hitch hiker?

I have something growing on LR I've never seen b4.
It looks kinda similar to frogspawn, but it's reddish/burgandy.
There's a so so pic of it in my gallery, 2nd pic to the right of the flame scallop.
I'll try to get better pic when lights come on.

It is a macroalga, can't recall the name at this time, though.

Reasonably common and kind of cool as well. I haven't noticed them being particularly invasive. They are also easy to remove if you want to.

I like the color and texture.
It's growing kinda fast.
Think it's a keeper!
AHH, a positive hitcher!

I have a very small juvy naso (I'm going bigger this summer, don't want tang police on my butt!)
So far he's not interested in it.
Hope it stays that way.

i once had a HUGE one of those pop up out of some x-mas tree worm rock in my first reef. i had no friggin clue what it was but it was cool. it grew to about 10 inches tall, tons of branches and then one day it just crashed and dissolved. leave it and see how big it gets!

Leave it and see what happens. If it spreads just inject it with straight calcium. It will help your tank and kill the thing at the same time

Cool!
So far I really like it, nice color addition.
The tubular branches kinda look like my frogspwan.
Thanks for responses

Is that a warning that this could be a nuissance algae?
Could it overgrow similar to calerpa?
