Anyone else get excited about the little things?

I've had a skunk cleaner shrimp for about eight months now, and loved every minute - s/he's so much fun to watch, very interactive with both me and the fish. Recently I read that these guys are actually best in pairs, and that any two would form a male/female pair. I went out and bought another shrimp, though I was a little worried - the new shrimp is less than half the size of the one I already had. I guess my worries were unfounded; as soon as I added the second shrimp, they found each other and have stayed close together ever since.
This morning I looked into the tank to discover that the larger shrimp is carrying eggs! I know that I won't be able to raise the babies, but it's really exciting to me that they're happy together and breeding

Anyone else get happy over the small stuff?

I was pretty extatic when my clowns hosted in a BTA, I almost called in sick to work to watch them. How sad is that?

You can keep the female seperated a until it hatchs. You can keep the babies and they will grow just fine in your Refu.

Not unless you've got a large breeding facility. I dont think anyone has been able to consistently get them to settle out.

It's almost embarassing what strikes my fancy. I have an aquarium problem, and the only prescription is more cowbell.

So glad I'm not alone!

Rich, I'm just going to let the larvae become part of the food web. Maybe it sounds wierd, it's not the possibility of babies that thrilled me, more that the parents are happy and well fed enough to be reproducing.

mthedude, maybe I'm pathetic too (probably) but that's not sad to me at all. I can't count the times I've nearly been late for work because I can't stop staring at something in one of my tanks. Sometimes I'd just rather sit home and watch fish more than anything else

My scarlet hermits just held a revel atop the montipora frag. My female, Peanut, was definitely a participant. There were at least 2 males. Fry are in the offing. Like with the shrimp, there's not much I can do but see she's not disturbed for the next 2 weeks, but at least the hermits seem to be having a good time. There is no vote from the montipora.

I just did a midnight water change in my tanks and some of my corals are freakin' they're so happy. As for me, I'm euphoric.
