HELP!!! Catch a CBS

Ok guys I have discovered the CBS is cute to have but they allow for no other shrimp or small fish as they will hunt them down without rest. I have already seen the one in my tank kill and eat my fire shrimp. Last night after my day lights turned off in my 24 gal. Aquapod I actually saw him hunting down my new Yellow Clown Golby. I then tried to catch him with my net for 2 hours with no success. This morning I put some flake food (this is what I feed my 6 Line Wrasse, and Pygmy Angel) in a plastic water bottle with the neck cut out ahd I think he knows it is a trap. He has not gone in as yet but my Cleaner Shrimp went in as soon as I put it in the water. Any suggestions on what to bait my trap with or any better way on trapping this bad boy. Oh yea, I have not seen my YCB as yet.

try one of those specimen containers with a flip lid, put in tank with meaty bait, use fishing line to hold lid open open, when shrimp crawls in, spring the trap.
also try not to cram too many shrimp in a smaller tank. CBS can be territorial, especially if they are not getting enough food.
try to target feed if it is possble, if fed on regular basis he should stop chasing your fish.
also my CBS chases my yellow clown goby once in awhile, and he still can't catch him

Thanks for the suggestion. Where do you find the trap you was talking about. I have only 1 CBS in my 24 al. Aquapod. I have only been feeding flake food. I thought my CBS is fwwding off the stuff on my live rock. What kind of food should I feed him? Trying to keep my tank simple.

Mine likes flakes so I make sure a flake or 2 makes it to his hide spot. Seems to keep him happy.

Great News as I found my Yellow Clown Goby. He some how got into the side that the pump is in. Still think I would like to get rid of the CBS so I can add some other shrimp such as sexy shrimp and another fire shrimp. I am trying to have a peaceful tank but some how I keep getting aggressive animals.

A CBS won't eat any of your shrimp or fish, cleaners are far to fast for them and a CBS won't even bother chasing them more than 2"
They just guard their little spot, I have a couple of small gobies in with mine and are always in close proximity with each other, no problems.
They do jump up at the fish if they go too close to his spot, but the fish don't really bother. On that though my maroon clowns chase anything that goes too close to their anomone.
I'd say the risk is slim to none if they go for a fish it's because they are injured or dieing. some of them clean larger fish.

Also i have one in with 4 Scarlet Skunk Cleaner Shrimp, 1 Blood Red Fire Shrimp, had a camel back but took it out.
Never had any trouble, the fighting was with the cleaner and the camel which is why he came out.

What is your tank size that you have these in there? I currently have 1 scarlet, 1 blood, and 2 peps but would really love to add a CBS to manage the bristle worm population.

However, since I only have a 50G tank, I'd be afraid of turf wars.
