Someone Help I think my Clown is gonna die
I don't get it. He's staying at the bottom of the tak. Ive had him for about a week now. I have a feeling he's gonna die. I don't know what it is. It seems that theres something eaing away at his tail but I don't know what it is. This is my 3rd fish. They are all dying, Is there something wrong with my tank. My 1st clown jumped out and died. My royal gramma, ever since i introduced my new 2 clown fish in the tank, he would stay hiding and enver came out to eat and evenetually died in 3 days. And now my 2 clownfish, one is dying and the other keeps going near it as if it were sad, what should i DO!?!!??!!??!!?!?!?!?? plz someone help

The tank is about 2 months. It's a 20 gal tank. I'm not sure what your asking about the water paromoter. I don't know much about tanks. I just started, I'm completely new to this whole reef tank business, or to any tank. Is there somehting i should be checking?

sounds like ich you need to move him and the rest of your fish to a hospital tank and read up on ich cures, copper or hypo but only use hypo if you have a refractometer and only use copper if you have a good copper test.

you should be checking your ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, salt level, alk, ph temp. check them with good test kits not the strip kind something like salifert kits are best

Don't buy any more fish until you get test kits.
Get: Salifert ammonia test, nitrate, nitrite. All of those should be 0 before you add any fish. Get thermometers (2 of different types): temp should be very close to 80. Get the alkalinity test: your alk should be 8.3-11. No test that just says "ok" is adequate. Get a refractometer: your salinity should be 1.024. If your water does not meet these standards, it will stress and kill your fish.

Sk8r Salinity 1.024-6; alkalinity 8.3-9.3 on KH scale; calcium 420; magnesium 1300, temp 78-80, nitrate .2. Ammonia 0. No filters: lps tank. Alk and cal won't rise if mg is low. Current Tank Info: 105g AquaVim wedge, yellow tang, sailfin blenny, royal gramma, ocellaris clown pair, yellow watchman, 100 microceriths, 25 tiny hermits, a 4" conch, 1" nassarius, recovering from 2 year hiatus with daily water change of 10%. |

YAH! sorry but did you read at all about saltwater tanks before you jumped in and put fish in it? do you have a test kit, and hydrometer to measure the salinity?!?! if you dont test these things the water is not going to be right to keep fish in them. salt water must be almost perfect! did you read at all or just throw it all together? what equipment do you have and do you have live rock/sand? what is your water source?

If you have ich issues you may also want to consider buying from another LFS down the road.

Does the Clown have a white film on it or appear to be peeling? Is it tank raised or wild caught? Could also be Brooklnella, a series of formalin dips is the cure...Can you post a pic?
