Question Reeflux 250W 10K Users

I just installed my new Reeflux 10K's today and i'm getting a very noticable yellow look. Has this happened with anyone else? I thought they are supposed to be very white looking?? Could it be that they are reflecting off the inside of my canopy which is raw wood, whats funny is that my Coral Vue 10K's didnt do this. When i glance at the bulb it looks very white but the reflection in the water tells a different story. I'm wondering if they just need to burn in a little.

Thanks,
Rich

some guy posted a thread about this a few days ago... try to rotate your bulb when it's ON (use a cloth not to burn yourself) if the "nipple" is pointing down then try pointing it up... and vice versa...

What kind of ballast are you running them on? They'll burn more white on an electronic ballast.

Also, how clean is your water? If you have excess nutrient in the water column that will skew the color of the reflected light through the water.

you might need to give the bulb time to "burn in" to it's actual color

One is on a Reef Fanatic e-ballast and the other is on a PFO HQI ballast.

ORP is @ 346, water is very clear.

Thats what I thought too but Jeremy @ Premium Aq. said he will just change them out for the Reeflux 12K's. He said that should be what i'm looking for.

Thanks,
Rich

Mine were yellow too, changed out to 12K's, now I have white with a little blue mixed in.

No more yellow.

Got the 12K's today and what a difference, I really like these. If I can get a good comparison shot I will post it.
