Arrow Powerhead positioning... HELP

Greetings all,

I have 2x MJ900's, but so far only have 1 of them installed. I have it attached to the middle back wall in the tank. I thought if I put it there I could maybe hide it with some LR, but the head sticks out kinda far into the tank. The stock powerhead is in the upper left part of the tank.. it's barely noticable. Should I replace the stock with a 900? Is it that much better.. I want to replace it, but don't want two huge powerheads sitting inside the display, unless I can hide them.

How do you all have your Maxijets positioned? Is there a way to somewhat HIDE them?

I would post some pictures, but cant find my digi cam cord to transfer pics to comp.. still looking around for it.

Thanks for help all

Cheers

I put mine in the upper conners of mine, I wouldn't hide a power head to where it's hard to get to like behind rock. If something goes wrong with the pump then you'll end up have to move it. I dont know thats what I think!

Also, keep the input well covered, I had an anemone get shreaded one morning. and don't put anything that will get clogged, it's a hard balance to get. Not too big not too small.

Would it be a bad idea to wrap the intake in that blue filter material, so to avoid anything being sucked up and killed (or large grit from damaging the impeller).

I'd doing exactly that with the maxijet 1200 I'm using to circulate the bin I'm curing my live rock in.

I have three powerheads in my display, one at the top center rippling the water's surface, and two on each side about three inches off the bottom. Thanks to the shape of my tank it flows well off the glass and makes a swirl effect to the middle and up the center again. I have short sponge filters on both of the lower powerheads in case of sand and in case my Mandarin gets too close. I just have to clean them often.
