Clown hosting in frogspawn?

I'm not really sure if my clown is "hosting" in my frogspawn, today he will not leave the area where it is, he goes above it and then dives towards the frogspawn BUT then pulls up right before he actually touches the tentacles.

Is he hosting it?
OR
Thinking about hosting it??

Can he get stung by the frogspawn?

Thanks
~Steve~

I've heard several people say there clownfish are hosting in a frogspawn or torch coral. He'll probably end up hosting it, if he hasn't already.

Clows will host with anything you can put in your tank. Just about any coral, algae magnets, skimmer overflow boxes ect. :P

I agree, they will host anything they can, I have 3, one hosts in my brain coral, the other in my Xenia, the last in my hammer coral.
They can get stung but they form a immunity to it just like they would with a anemone.

HOpefully these are well-behaved clowns. If you can get them to set up shop in a stony, which never moves, you will have a much easier time arranging your tank. They may get frustrated, as the frogspawn will eject some of the larger food they may want to store in it, but hey, no house is perfect.

Good...this brings me to my question.... I saw my lil clown placed between the two branches of the Xenia. Not technically on the Xenia , like on the tentacles, but swims in the gap in between them and lies there for hours. Sleeps there, eats there and even poops there. Does that mean he is hosting, or thats his territory. once in a while , he comes out to woo his gal, but the meanie just chases him. She has become a hand biter too.... God i cant deal with women...

Been doing that for about 3 years with my hammer, which is about the size of a medium honeydew.
