I just bought a gamma (40w) and it's great. My water has never looked better. Ive tried ozone, lots of carbon, heavy skimming, and nothing has even come close to what the UV did to my tank. Im still in awe!

I also have the gamma 40 watt on my 125g, and my water is exceptionally clear. The UV is probably just as efficient in sump or as hang-on, but the efficiency of it can be hindered by what pump you use to power it. I know the gammas say they can handle tremendous flow rates, but your water will treated more effectively if you have less water per hour going through it. My 40 watt has about 200 gph going through it.
