Take a look at the single chamber unit from www.aquaticsystemsdesign.com . Reliable, well-built, and priced right.

I just got a Coralife Calcium Reactor, but I don't have it set up yet. For the price, I figured it was worth a shot. I'm hoping to have it set up this coming weekend, but I still have to get some media for it. I'm not sure what media to get.

I'd go with either the MTC Mini-cal (the Pro-cal would be VERY nice!) or one of the PM models (422 or 622). The MTC models are both dual chamber while the PM models give you the option of adding a 2nd chamber if you wish.

I'm in the same boat right now actually. I've got a 120 gal with 3 clams and a few LPS corals and I'm getting frustrated trying to keep my calcium up. A lot of people I know where I live like the 422 Precision Marine ones and that is what I am thinking about getting.

size reactor
I am leaning to the PM 422 or one by H&S. A lot of these are for tanks 250 gallon plus. Will this be too much for my little 120 gallon?

I am running the ASD unit on my 90 gallon tank with no problems. As long as you regulate the reactor's ouptut, it won't matter how big it is.

I've owned one of their reactors for over 2 years now and the thing is a tank, flawless. I've never once had any issues with it at all and highly recommend it and the rest of his line of products. Extremely high quality and the craftsmanship is second to none. |
