Panda Goby

G'day all,

Anyone have experience with the Panda Goby? Will it partner up w/ a Pistol Shrimp?

Thanks in advance

Pandas are relitively new to the hobby. So,they can be expensive.I added one as my first fish and he disappeared within a few days.I believe the hermits ate him. They are just like clown gobies, and need some type of corals to hide in.I don't thing they with pair with a pistol shrimp, only shrimp gobies will do that. They naturally host in Pocillipora corals in the wild. Also if you get a pair, and they breed, they will nip at the sps polyps to lay thier eggs.I now am waiting on my new Panda goby.I have even purchased a huge Pocillipora colony last month to help with the introduction to my tank.I had no coral in my tank when I introduced the first one.My mistake for not researching more before adding him.Good luck with the Pandas!

My green clown stays in my xenia and only darts out to eat he is comical and a great addition to the tank. He has figured out that he cant compete with the bigger fish for food so he outsmarts them and goes immediately to the overflow and waits for the food to come to him. Here is a pic

Very wise sometimes, but if the purple tang comes over to his area he gets stupid and runs out like he is going to whip some butt. Then gets out there and realizes that was a stupid move and rushes back. The tang doesn't seem amused but doesn't go after him either
