The "general rule of thumb" (not that there are any hard-and-fast rules in saltwater) is 10% of system volume once a week or once every other week. I've heard of some folks changing out 20% to 30% once a month but those were advanced reef keepers. I try to do 10% every other week unless I can remember to do it once a week. My first year I changed out the water at 10% every week on the dot. Now that I understand my system more I slack off a little (I know, bad bad reefer!).
So, for your setup, I would say change out 4 gallons of water once a week.
