Six Line Wrasse picking on the new fish....

hey hey

i have a 50gal thats been set up for about 5 months now. i have had a Firefish and a Six Line Wrasse in there for about 3 months. i just recently added a Neon Blue Goby (which i cant find anymore) and a True Percula Clown about 2 weeks ago. the Six Line Wrasse wont let the Clown get close to the rockwork and he seems to only hang out high in the tank close to the water surface. i also catch the Six Line Wrasse going up to the Clown just to pick on him

i know this is natural until the Clown isnt a "newb" in the tank... but anyone have any tips or tricks to help this process along?

could try to rearrange the rockwork a lil to throw the wrasse off. Works sometimes.
Where did you buy the neon goby's from, im in RI and recently got some blue neon goby's and only had one survive. So yours may be a goner

From past experience with both of your issues, neon gobies always tend to mysteriously disappear for some reason. As for the 6-line, changing rock work very seldom works unless you are able to remove the wrasse first and then change up the rock work. They are relatively smart fish and will still recognize the clown as a new inhabitant. I had a six-line that took out a new clown I added to a 90 gallon. Good Luck.

oh great!

maybe some punishment time in a QT tank for a couple weeks will change the 6-line's attitude!

Good thought. That depends on the sump configuration, and what section you put him in...
