Are these normal water parameters when cycling?

My tank has just started to cycle (I think) and I just checked my water parameters. Do these sound normal for day 9 of a new tank set up.

PH 8.0
Salinity 1.024
Amonia Still at 0
Nitrate 20
Nitrite 5.0

The cycleing process seems to stress me out for some reason

normal part of cycle, wait until nitrites are 0 and nitrates are <10 before adding anything

Everything looks good! Cycling IS stressful. My biggest problem was I couldn't get it to start. Ammonia never got up past 0 so it took me a month to get some ammonium chloride to start it. Then it finished in 3 days...aaah the good old days lol. Good luck with your tank!

Current Tank Info: 150 gallon, 2 Hamilton 400w 14K Metal halide, Red Sea Berlin Skimmer (Don't scoff, it works well), 150-200 lbs LR, 50 lbs LS, 100 lbs Southdown...anything else?

Looks reasonable to me. I'd wait for a few weeks of zero ammonia, and then consider adding a cleanup crew.

Just a note, your pH is too low. Should be 8.4 or so.

The Nitrates will rise higher as the Nitrites naturally drop to zero, so figure out the proper schedule of water changes to get Nitrates as near 0 as possible. It will probably be another few days or more before Nitrites hit 0.

I also find cycling a tank very stressful, but one way to start the ammonia cycle is to go oldschool and pee in a cup, then dump it in there. I wouldn't recommend it though, lol.
