I would stay away (run) from a seaclone. Try a ASM or aqua c remora.

with 80 gallons you need "aqua c pro" the remora is for 75 gallons, as the pro is for 150. also I sugest the skimmer box that goes with it, for better results. REF-ON!!!

Actually, if you're running a sump, the Urchin Pro would be the more appropriate model.

Check out the Coralife Super Skimmer. They are recommended second here on RC to Remora from what I can tell. I think the size you would need is rated for 125 gal. I looked at the Remora for my 37gal. and it was $189 versus $89 for the Coralife SS. For the 125gal. Coralife, they are on Ebay for $140. Ebay has the Remora for the same size priced at $227. Both of those prices are Buy It Now. I really like my Coralife.

skimmer

My opinion is to go with what people are recommending. I've heard from numerous sources, both online and in a store, that the AquaC skimmers rock. As I've only been running mine for a couple weeks, I can't say much just yet. But if it's a choice between saving some money and providing a better environment for your aquarium, I'd spend the extra cash and get the best one you can afford. Yes, the AquaC's are a little more pricey than others, but you'll make that up in the long run by not losing more fish, buying more chemicals, treating diseases, etc. The cost is well worth it.

To me, why I chose the Urchin over any other skimmer out there, and I've owned alot, from the BakPak, to Turboflotor, Berlin, etc. If you've seen a downdraft skimmer perform, you'll see how much stuff gets blasted out of the water. To me, the Urchin/Remora is like a mini-downdraft skimmer in the way it inducts the water and air mixture. I'm finally getting the foam that I've desired, and my tank looks great, gets fed daily with no algal or water problems. That's proof enough for me that it's working.

I really like my remora skimmers. I have two tanks and each now have a Remora Pro. They do a great job with almost no adjustments needed.

Another vote for the Urchin---very easy to use and maintain, and very busy---not to mention a very small footprint.
