Acclimating corals
Do you turn your lights off when you acclimate your corals, and if so, for how long? Why is it necessary to do this? (other than the general "it shocks them...")

I do not turn lights off during coral acclimatization.

It really depends. How new is the frag? Is it freshly cut? Was it housed under lower lighting than what I have? How hardy is it? Is it a deep water species?
All my acclimation is on a specimen to specimen basis.

It's a Cycloseris that was under MH, which is what I also have. It's not that I'm so intrested in this particular species, but more on a general basis
