Question advice re: nitrate

Hi all,

I am having problems with the salifert test kit (nitrate). I have read varies contradicting advice regarding nitrate levels, one book says it should be less than 20ppm, whereas another says <0.2ppm.

My nitrate using the low level range is 1
using the high range its 0

Any help and can someone set me straight?? Thank you

That should be fine for most any animal. I would guess the worst case is some corals might be a bit more brown with the extra nitrate. This article discusses water parameters:
