skimmer HOB filter question
I have a HOB filter with a built in skimmer. Everybody seems to agree that HOB filters are more harmful than helpful and I know that my skimmer is in desperate need of an upgrade. SO my questions are: Does anyone have a reccomendation for a solid, affordable skimmer for a 75 gallon tank? Also, any idea on how to turn my HOB filter into a HOB sump? I know this is not the ideal situation but it beats not having a sump at all.

You could use the filter to run carbon and for circulation. That's common and should be helpful.
You could consider the CoraLife SuperSkimmer for the tank. It will run as a hang-on. I have one of the smaller models and it seems okay. If you want to get a full sump, then the ASM and Euro-Reef models also seem good.

Remora Pro would work well with that sized tank ... coralife a decent skimmer but may require more "tuning" to get it to work properly.
