those look like rip off CPR bakpak skimmers. I have heard mixed reviews of the bakpaks, so those are probably ok at best. If you happen to get one I would not use the bio media inculded as it will raise your nitrates. My advice to you would be to spend a little bit more on a skimmer and get something that you are not going have to replace in a few months because your are unhappy with its proformence.

If you can waist 100 more, go for the Aqua C remora Skimmer. Comes with a maxi jet1200, most people say its the best

skimmer
IMO a skimmer is the one piece of equipment you shouldn't skimp on.
that being said i think the best skimmer for around $60 is the prizm http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewIt...product=RS1131 |

What size tank are you talking about? You can get a Coralife Super Skimmer 65 for about $90. That would be OK for something like a 30-gallon tank.
I you don't know already, manufacturers tend to highly overrate their skimmers. Whatever tank size the manufacturer quotes, cut it in half (for starters). I'll be the second annoying person to say...Don't skimp on the skimmer. If you do, you will either 1) have lots of trouble with the tank and get discouraged (and kill fish/corals) or 2) end up replacing it. If I were going to be doing a small tank right now, I'd look at the Tunze Nano DOC or Tunze Reefpack 200. |

For a 10-gallon you have a couple options. The CSS 65 will definitely work, but it might be a little too much flow.
For such a small tank, I'd be tempted to try the air-stone driven AquaMedic Midiflotor. There is also the new Fusion Nano skimmer; don't know how well it work though. You could also get by without a skimmer and just doing regular water changes. |

If all you have is about $60, the CSS is definitly your best choice. Prizms are junk, as are the ones on your link. Remoras work well, I use one, $160

I'll second getting the remora and also second staying away from the Prizm. The Prizms are too touchy and inconsistent in micro bubble production.
You can go with the CSS but I've seen too many posts on mods that you have to do to get it working correctly. Out of the box the Remora seems to be the better value with little to no problems. I've had a Prizm (4-5 years) and hated it. Seaclowns I won't even bother with. My Remora (used) going on 2 years and I'm thrilled with it. |
