Adjustable height lighting
I'm working on my lighting setup for my new 180. I'm looking to design some type of adjustable height lighting system. Do any of you have any experiance with this?
I need to move 3 luminarc pendants about 12" up and down. I dont plan on using a canopy on this system, just the lighting system hanging from the ceiling. Thanks in advance. |

I'd like to automate the process and have it look as clean as possible. I want to go with some sort of wire cable instead of chains & S hooks.

I use chain as well but if I wanted to go with your thoughts I would purchase a cable suspention system from say Aquamedic or Sunlight Supply and run it through the ceiling. You could rig a pully system in the ceiling space so you could adjust the height. If you really wanted to get clean you could find a motor like the ones used in an electric home theatre screen and rig it to raised by remote control.

Thats exactly what I want to do. I'll have to check some home theater sites. I didnt even think of going that route. I'm sure someone has done this before.
