Copperband and aptasia
Its been a while since i have had an aptasia problem in my 90g, and i let it get pretty bad without doing anything. Is a copperband still a pretty effective thing for aptasia control? i have tried everything else including joes juice and it doesnt work.

If you add a copperband I guarantee he will eat all of your spaghetti worms and white feather dusters before he will touch your aptasia. Then he might eat on your aptasia, but that's a huge maybe. Just get a syringe and a lime. Inject those bastards right into their mouths with lime juice straight out of a lime. It works instantly and it's reef safe.

Never actually saw mine eat them but I don't have anymore in my tank. I also added some peppermint shrimp and berghi nudies as well. Don't know who got them all but they are gone.

My copperband kicks aptasia butt! I love watching him when he gets a hold of one. I believe he will chow down on bristle worms as well if he can get them. between him and my sixline they can throw down the gauntlet on some worms.
By the way my CBB was the best investment I made to keep aptasia at bay. It just took a long time to get him to eat. That is the problem with a lot of CBB. They can acclimate poorly in an established tank. I had a Yellow Tang in mine already before I added him, but eventually they adjusted to each other. Hope that helps, Bill

Yea for the most part. I think my amp is not all that good.
I still wonder about the peppermints as I've never seen them in the tank but I do occasinaly see a shell. In any matter, my apstia are gone. Unfortunatly, I also lost one of my CBB's. Not for sure what happend to him. They were even eating pellet food as well as picking off the rocks.

My peppermints never touched any that I could see. However, my Copperband destroyed my aiptasias in a matter of hours. Ate all of the feather dusters too.

I may just take it back to the lfs after it takes care of the aptasia but i always hate doing that. it like renting a fish.

You can feed it clams from the grocery store after the aiptasia is gone. Mine goes crazy when I feed them.

No, he won't eat algae off a clip. The clams should work great, as well as frozen mysis if you're lucky!
