Seio powerheads

I was wondering if the (tunze knockoff) Seio's have adjustable flow?

I was thinking of getting two to replace the 4 maxijet 1200's I have but I am afraid they will move too much water and I would like to be able to throttle them back if possible.

I have searched and couldn't find any info on this.

Thanks for your help,
C.G.

I have 2 SEIO's in my tank, along with 2 Maxi-jets. To my knowledge the SEIO's do not have adjustable flow.

C.G. the blue knob on the back is for air flow control. You can adjust the flow on the Seio's but not by much. Of course I have only used the 620 & tthe 820 models.

How do you adjust the flow? The guys at marine depot told me that the blue dial adjusted flow but I thought it had something to do with air as well.

You twist the broad ring around the powerhead & this opens/closes the water intakes.

cool. Thanks for your answer. I went to their site hoping to download a pdf of the instruction manual but no dice.

I am not sure what size I should get. I usually buy more than I need because I hope to upgrade to a larger tank asap.

What would you guys recommend?

I may post this question in the SPS forums as well to get as many responses as possible.

I appreciate everyones help.

I am curious as to why you say go with the 1100's. Is it because they are the lowest model that will work with the new controller? It seems to me like two of those would blow the glass out of my tank!

Correct me if I am wrong though!

I try to keep most of the high flow in the top of my tank and not as much in the lower part as I have some ricordia and LPS in the bottom and the SPS up high.

because they are adjustable, I'd get the 1100. It's easy to tune it down and the 1100 isn't that much bigger than the 820. Look at the magnet holders they are selling now, it's well worth it.
