Maxi Jet 900 ?
Do you use the directional flow attachment with yours or just leave it off and use it without any attachment? Why?

I use both.... Depends on wether or not I like the flow in my tank. I also use a couple of Hydor Flo's.

I don't use the flow diverter that comes with the MJs. I either keep it plain and simple, or use a Hydor FLO like UbranSage. Plain & simple takes up less space and I usually use one like that where the flow is being directed into a rock, the glass, or straight across the back of the tank. The Hydor FLOs are good for creating a little more random current, but do reduce the output of the powerhead some.

I didn't use the deflector attachment, put one mj900 on one end of my tank up as close to the surface as I could and still be submerged and the other one on the opposite side of my tank half way down in the middle. I must say that it seems to be working well...plenty of flow in a circular motion as far as I can tell (from the way the food swirls around) and a good amount of surface agitation (looks cool...sort of like a poor mans version of a wavebox...lol). Hope this works as well as it seems to be working now :-).
