powerhead question

powerheads, i have a couple of them, one on my hang on skimmer, which there is a hose that comes off and goes to a needle adjustment valve... (everyone should know what i'm talking about)

the other skimmers i have are aquaclear 4000, my question is...

how do i hook up a suction tube to these powerheads like the skimmer powerhead, or is there specific powerheads models for this.

there is a adjustment screw on the aquaclear powerhead that controls the air/water ratio, if i take it off will i have a place to install this tube?

I hope this makes enough sense to get a answer.

I'm using melv's hang-on overflow design and need to install a tube on the top of the design to keep prime. I posted a thread about this and everyone suggested to keep the prime through a powerhead...
