Arrow can someone please tell me how aiptasia spreads?

I recently bought some used LR from a local guy and put it in my fuge. I now see what I believe is aiptasia and I will deal with killing it.
I'm wondering if it might spread to my main tank through the water / plumbing or not though???

Thanks, Jim

They can spread in several ways. As they move, they leave behind blobs of cells that grow into full-sized Aiptasia. They also can spread via free-swimming planulae. So they can easily spread from the refugium to the main tank.

Does a UV sterilizer kill the free-floating stuff?

Possibly, but not necessarily, since the planula are large.
