Water changes and coral health

I got lazy over the 4th July weekend and didn't do my weekly 25% water change on Friday. I just topped off the tank. This is the 2 time I've left the tank go like this. Both times I've noticed that corals that I have all look really good the later I wait to do the water change. Could I be doing too much water changes for my 10 gal nano? or is it something else?

With a small tank maybe a change every week is more necessary, not sure if you have a skimmer or heavy bio-load. I do not think most change water that often. But every time I do a 15% water change(4 to 6 weeks) my corals look better.
