Do i have enough flow

I have a 29 gal with live rock and a few snails right now. I should be adding fish in a few weeks but I have to get my ph up from 7.8 first. but here is my question do I have enough flow. Here is my setup:

29 gal with 30lbs live rock
fluval 202 Canister filter (I will be taking out the bio media later today when I have some time and leave only the sponge and carbon)
1 rio 600 power head

I have both the discharge for the rio and filter pointed up to the surface meeting each other in the center of the tank. I will be adding a remora protein skimmer as soon as I can find a good price online and order it.

Thanks for the help

Vince

It all depends on what type of corals you are going to keep.If its just going to be a fish and some softies then yes.

The rio 600 doesn't put out that much flow so you may want to add another or just get a seio 620 or larger.

I'd suggest that you put a Hydor Flow Deflector on the Rio 600. It'd improve the quality (not the force) of the flow that it gives.

What you have together creates about 380gph of flow. I don't think that's enough even for a fish only since the live rock would benefit from more flow. IMO having 20X turnover in the reef would be the minimum. I've found that more flow, so long as it isn't overcoming any coral and the sand isn't going wild, is best. I'd would say that you shouldn't even bother using the canister, add a Seio 620 to the Rio with the Hydor and that should be fine.

well Im adding the remora c with maxi whenever it gets here and ditching the canister. Is there any one powerhead that will work well on its own? I would like to keep a clean look not powerheads and filters all over.

Thanks Vince

Having a Sieo 820 alone on one end would probably be enough flow, but...having flow generated at one side of the tank isn't ideal. The randomness of the flow resuting from a powerhead like a MJ1200 with a Hydor on one side and a Sieo 620 on the other side would be a better quality of flow and more natural. Go with something more like that despite the second pump in there.
