just picked up an orange sponge...have a ? if anyone has one

I put it halfway in the tank where half of it is shadowed by rocks. The upper tips are showing however. I have MH lighting (175 watt 10k's). I know they don't like too much light. Anyone with similiar lights have success?

I built some caves into my lr, and am having success with red and yellow and a veinlike blue, but the orange still doesn't proliferate. I kind of wonder if there's not a chemistry component to the orange...

Feed phyto. This helps.

Alk and cal won't rise if mg is low. Current Tank Info: 105g AquaVim wedge, yellow tang, sailfin blenny,royal gramma, ocellaris clown pair, yellow watchman, 100 microceriths, 25 tiny hermits, a 4" conch, 1" nassarius, recovering from 2 year hiatus with daily water change of 10%.
