OK..........WHAT, is This!!! ..PICS..

I was cleaning my sump and found this thing in there just crawlin around. It's about an inch or a little longer and slides along like a snail, the back of it is hard like a shell.....What the heck is it??

yeah, it's good. it's basically a sea slug without a massive shell

Doesn't look like a chiton to me. I would guess Stomatella (not real sure of spelling. Its something like that) snail.

That is not a chiton. It is a stomatella snail. Still good to have around. http://www.melevsreef.com/id/stomatella.html

maybe, a stomatella, but either way, it's pretty much the same thing. atleast in its habits within the aquarium

Stomatella. I have many.. well HAD many.. not as common anymore in my tank.

Great snails, spawn regularly.

It's a stomatella, they're great little grazers. They come in a range of colours and breed like rabbits. Keep him around, he's just another beneficial member of the cleanup crew

Now that I know what I'm looking for....They're all over my LR.
I counted about 12 of them that I could see with a flashlight.......Huh, Who knew!

Definitely Stomatella. My Cleaner Shrimp hunt and eat them and keep the population in check.

Stomatella are very cool snails, take a flash light on my old tank and I could see easily 40-50 over the rock, little ones to ones 2 inches long. Pretty cool snails if you ask me.
