I was cleaning my sump and found this thing in there just crawlin around. It's about an inch or a little longer and slides along like a snail, the back of it is hard like a shell.....What the heck is it??

Doesn't look like a chiton to me. I would guess Stomatella (not real sure of spelling. Its something like that) snail.

That is not a chiton. It is a stomatella snail. Still good to have around. http://www.melevsreef.com/id/stomatella.html

It's a stomatella, they're great little grazers. They come in a range of colours and breed like rabbits. Keep him around, he's just another beneficial member of the cleanup crew

Definitely Stomatella. My Cleaner Shrimp hunt and eat them and keep the population in check.

Stomatella are very cool snails, take a flash light on my old tank and I could see easily 40-50 over the rock, little ones to ones 2 inches long. Pretty cool snails if you ask me.
