marine snow
I am having trouble finding anything on marine snow. I have a bottle I have been feeding to my tank, but I am not sure if it is benifiting anything. I have heard some good reports about it, but I haven't seen the growth that others have claimed. Was wondering if anyone has had experience with this.

I've been using it for a couple months as well. I haven't noticed much of a change one way or the other. Since it doesn't seem to be having any negative effects, I plan on continuing to use it, though. I know there are certainly corals that use marine snow (the actual stuff, not necessarily the manufactured version) as a food source, but reading up a little bit on it, it sounds like it's mainly just detritus and other waste material, so I wonder if the tank is just naturally supplying the stuff anyway.

Yeah, if I stir up the bottom of my BB tank a bunch of detritus naturally lands on everything.
It's funny, the LPS really like it when I do it.

what does purple up have to do with marine snow?
any chance you get, you say to use purple up...why? any thread about kalk, there you are saying how you "gave up on that kalk. thing and use purple up 16oz.". seems strange to me. have you read any of randys articles on these type of products? might make you change your mind... |

does randy have a critique of certain products? I'd like to read them. If possible can you post a link?
