Foam on back of tank?
Has any one heard of using pond foam (pictures would be great)? http://cgi.ebay.com/Pond-Waterfall-B...QQcmdZViewItem
It looks similar to foam insulation for homes but I would never use that stuff in my tank. Someone at a LFS told me about it when I was buying my new tank. A friend of his used it on the back of his tank and it has grown over with coralline algae. He was able to secure rock ledges in it. Looks like it would be lightweight and may be able to secure rocks together for stacking rocks, and possibly rip apart later? |

There was a post in the Large Reef Tanks forums where a guy used foam on the back of his tank. He also had pics of a friends tank who had used foam. You couldn't tell the difference between rockwork and the foam.
(I tried to find the tread again but couldn't) Try searching around here, good luck... ---ttomkat1

I once used the same foam in a terrarium for poison dart frogs which are extremely sensitive to toxins. I didn't have any problems with it.

That's a really nice trick to pull off...I used it in my new nano and am VERY glad I did. It looks gorgeous and saved me some room too
