Looks like a nudibranch or sea slug of some sort... if you can remove it to a bucket, refugium, sump etc. until you get an ID it might be a good idea; I'm not sure if it's safe to keep or not.

I believe it is a Sea Slug. Looking through my books...

It looks like Tritoniopsis sp. to me. " This predatory sea slug, often cited as a Tritoniopsis sp., is a regular import with soft corals upon which it feeds. Remove promptly if observed in the reef aquarium. Calfo & Fenner, Reef Invertebrates, page 208 w/picture.

Just did a google search and there is a lot of info and pics, too. I am sure someone here on RC can id it, or try Dr. Ron on the Marine Depot forums.

Its commonly called a Xenia eating nudibranch. You can trade it or sell it to someone with a xenia problem.

You should have tried to keep it. They are highly sought after for their ability to control xenia infestations. You could have ended up with some nice frags or some cash.

Thus, why it resembles Xenia, like someone first described it as got to love nature.
