Chiller set up question

I am curious which is the most efficient way to run a chiller in a sump.

a)Should i Have the output tube of the chiller lead straight to the return pump(of the main tank) so it goes directly into the main tank?

b)Or should I just put the chillers return tube in the middle of the sump, thus creating a cold sump which would slowly draw into the main tank?

THANKS!

I had went with B, my chiller runs into the middle chamber on my sump. I had originally tried to have my ehiem return pump go through my chiller and then from the chiller to the return into the main tank, but the flow became very low. I didn't think it was worth trying to buy a new bigger pump to replace the ehiem, so I just started running the chiller with its own smaller pump that runs from the sump and back.

Plan B twice.
My first setup had it's own pump returning the chilled water to the sump. The second setup has a "T"off the main pump with a ball valve cutting down the flow to the chiller then returning to the sump. Both worked well keeping the temp at the desired level. I wanted to keep the pumps at a minimum for electrical usage reasons that's why the "T" this time.
