PH monitor or controller for reactor?
I just bought a used Knop HD calcium reactor. Do I need to get a PH controller, monitor or both?

The controller will monitor the PH level of the reactor and adjust the Co2 level accordingly. If you want to monitor the tank PH, then you will need a separate monitor. At that stage you might want to think about a controller like the Neptune AC-III which will do both, along with a plethora of other things.

Thanks. Are all calcium reactors capable of using the PH controller? It is my understanding that there needs to be a spot for a PH probe. Sorry, but I'm really new at ca reactors. This is probably a very basic question.

MSAreef,
yes, you can you a controller like cward explained yes, you can use a ph controller on any reactor as long as you have the "ph holder" installed in the reactor body, but I would tell you this from experience, a ph monitor is all you need as ph goes, the regulator, (part that connects to the top of the co2 body) is all you need as control goes, when you fine tune it to your tank needs, it "shouldn't" change if the unit is good. I do it this way and is much safer, and only use the ph controller is case the ph goes to low inside to protect the media, or can be use on the main tank to protect from too low ph, anyway good luck, sam
